Questions & answers

How participation works

Is Mauritius.name a Government website?

No. Mauritius.name is an independent civic consultation initiative and is not a Government, National Assembly or official parliamentary website.

Can I comment without publishing my name?

Yes. Contributors can choose not to authorise public display of their submission. If they choose public display, an optional pseudonym may be used and a moderator must still approve the comment.

Can I propose replacement wording for a clause?

Yes. The legislative feedback system is designed to accept clause-specific recommendations and proposed alternative wording once the consultation form is opened.

Are comments published automatically?

No. Comments are stored privately pending review. Publication requires both the contributor’s separate explicit permission and moderator approval.

How will the proposal be revised?

Submissions are examined for legal coherence, constitutional safeguards and practical effects. Consultation reports may explain which changes were adopted or not adopted.

Where can I read the full Equality Bill?

Read all 112 clauses in the interactive Bill reader. The clause-by-clause review, covering memorandum and reference PDFs are available on the Equality Reform overview page.
